Week six of the 2025 NFL season
Real-time updates features live text for the weekend matchups via various channels, beginning with the Broncos-Jets clash at Tottenham (from 14:00 BST). Additionally, audio coverage is available through select stations for a separate game (from 21:00 BST).
It's week six in the NFL season , following last week's discussion regarding the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles as a potential Super Bowl match-up, each surrendered their perfect starts.
Striking in those games was the number of penalties each conceded. The Eagles committed them in key moments so they essentially defeated themselves after leading by two touchdowns entering the final quarter versus Denver, who play in London this weekend.
However it was positive to observe how Denver quarterback Bo Nix was able to have that deficit and then direct three successful possessions in three attempts during the final period, securing the victory by four points.
Denver have the top defender with CB their star corner. They are first in goal-line defense, whereas the Eagles are number one in red zone offence, yet Denver prevailed in that battle.
They executed effective strategies in terms of simulated pressure. They weren't always sending more than four defenders instead they might position two LBs in the interior then withdrawing them and dispatch a slot defender off the edge.
At the start in the campaign, we said on a program that the Broncos could be this season's surprise contenders. They finished the previous year strongly then did a good job of building upon that.
Could Denver be this year's underdog story?
New TE their tight end has excelled significantly while new running back JK Dobbins is a player the team trusts. He's currently 5th league-wide for rushing yards (over 400) and tied-fourth in rushing scores (four).
It's impressive that the coach the Broncos' leader has "RUSH!" at the top on his call sheet.
That shows how the Broncos are a squad aiming to run first, because you can do a lot off the back of that. It slows opposing rushes while maintains in favourable down and distances.
This has benefited QB Bo Nix, who entered the NFL as a first-round selection last year, throwing 29 touchdown passes – just behind Justin Herbert in rookie records (31 in 2020).
Josh Allen and Herbert have the arm strength to pass all over, but they lack in the same way that Nix has. He has exceptional passing ability, a unique trait, plus he is so athletic.
His strengths include his mobility, the capacity to pass while moving, and finding varied release points to make the pass as he moves out of the pocket, the bootlegs. He is able to throw precision throws across the middle and over the corner.
As a rookie QB, aged 25, he displays a lot of composure under pressure and isn't really fazed by extra rushers. He aims to evade a sack as much as possible and can pass under pressure. He has sharp intelligence and remains very decisive.
When you consistently rush it consumes the clock and forces the opponent to be on the field for longer, and when you've got a mobile QB the defense must defend the field vertically and horizontally. This proves draining.
Nix has pushed back at Payton on the sideline sometimes and I think Payton appreciates that fire, that he's such a competitor. I think it's exciting for the coach to have a young quarterback who's kind of like moldable clay. The coach can truly develop him the way he wants to build it. I think it's a special experience for him.
The head coach has won a championship and has passed Bill Parcells in all-time victories (173, tying for 14th). He's seen it all. I think the success the Broncos are experiencing on offence is largely due to his leadership, his schemes, his situational awareness – and the pairing with the QB helps make him into who he is.
There's no better a better guy guiding you, to help you during some of the tougher situations and boost confidence.
I believe in Denver's defence, in the QB's grit and calm. But is the team good enough to go against a top squad at its best? Because that wasn't a Super Bowl performance from Philadelphia last Sunday.
Currently, it's unlikely the Broncos are elite. They're working better than most, which is a solid position to be in their division. The key to do is maintain this trajectory.
They're really good at embracing their strength, which is running the ball, and this is exactly what they should do versus the New York Jets in London. It's going to be the JK Dobbins show, essentially.
The Jets have surrendered 140 rushing yards per game (sixth worst), five rushing touchdowns this season (10th worst), and they're the only team without a win a game.
Ever since the league began tracking takeaways decades ago, this team are the inaugural squad to be without any turnovers through five games, this is surprising considering that the head coach Aaron Glenn a defensive coach at the Detroit Lions.
The Chiefs' QB stated Kansas City are off to a poor start after a recent loss to Jacksonville.
Following this Sunday's game, Denver have a manageable slate up to their bye (in week twelve) - the New York Giants, the Cowboys, the Texans and the Raiders before the Chiefs.
Looking at the AFC West, Kansas City hold a losing record and the Broncos are even with the Chargers at 3-2 so they could make a run for the top of the division.
It depends on which form Kansas City shows up they meet because the Broncos {beat|def
