Vince Zampella, renowned for co-creating the wildly popular first-person shooter Call of Duty, has tragically died in a car accident in California he was 55 years old.

His passing was announced by Electronic Arts, which owns Respawn Entertainment, a game studio that he helped create.

The renowned video game developer passed away following his car crashed and burst into flames on a freeway in the Los Angeles area on this past Sunday, according to.
