The Blue Jays Earn Fall Classic Meeting Against defending champion Dodgers

George Springer celebrating

George Springer previously helped the Astros claiming the World Series in the 2017 season.

Canada's MLB team earned a spot in their first Fall Classic after the 1993 season by defeating the Seattle Mariners in the final game seven of the American League Championship Series.

Down three runs to one, Springer smashed a three-run homer in the seventh frame, guiding the sole Canadian team in Major League Baseball to a four games to three win in the seven-game series. Next up are the defending champions, who are the reigning title, in the anticipated World Series.

"It's incredible for everyone here, Toronto, Canada," commented Springer, a key player of the Astros team that claimed the 2017 championship. "This is such an incredible feeling."

George Springer has now slugged twenty-three October home runs, making him third on the list after Ramirez (29) and Altuve (twenty-seven).

"It's hard to imagine another person in the world that I want up in that moment except for George Springer with his October magic," noted Schneider.

Seattle's team, after leading the series 2-0 and 3-2, remain the only MLB franchise yet to make an appearance in a championship series.

Manager Dan Wilson stated "there's no question that it's painful" following his club's elimination at their home ballpark, but praised their performance this season.

"They're an exceptional squad. It's a shame that we finished on the wrong side of this game," he added.

The Blue Jays claimed the title on both previous visits in the early 90s, and will host the Los Angeles in the opener on Friday.
