Iranian Forces State Attack on US Base in the Kingdom of Bahrain, During Widespread Counterattacks.

Iranian forces say they have struck a US naval base in Bahrain, as Iran launched missile attacks throughout the Middle East in response for a large-scale and continuing attack against it by the US and Israel.

Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an zone in the area of the command center of the American Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The scope of any damage is unclear and the United States has remained silent.

Airspace Engagements

Elsewhere across the region, the UAE, Qatar and Kuwait - all home to American military installations - said they have engaged and destroyed missiles in their territorial skies.

In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence said it had successfully engaged several missiles apparently targeting the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest American base in the region.

Iran's Declared Retaliation

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated it was targeting US bases and assets as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the offensive on Iran carried out by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.

That US-Israeli operation - initiated at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far targeted sites linked to the the regime, with US President Donald Trump encouraging the Iranian people to revolt against the regime.

Additional Developments

In the State of Israel, sirens were heard nationwide after the Israel Defense Forces reported it had detected an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The Ministry of Defence of the UAE said in a statement that the nation has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"UAE air defence systems dealt with the projectiles with notable success and successfully intercepted a series of missiles," it added.

It said wreckage fell on a populated district in the capital, resulting in some property damage and the death of one civilian.

The United States Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
